Three-tier security for Nov 2 roadshow of PM in Patna

Patna: A three-tier security system will be implemented during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in the state capital on Sunday.Over 5,000 police personnel will be deployed to maintain security and law and order.

The entire route of the roadshow will be barricaded, and activities will be closely monitored through CCTV cameras.

Additionally, police force will be stationed on high-rise buildings along the route to prevent any untoward incidents.The roadshow is scheduled to commence from Dinkar Golambar and will conclude at Udyog Bhavan near Gandhi Maidan.A high-level meeting to review the security arrangements for PM Modi’s roadshow was held at the office of central range IG, Jitendra Singh Rana, on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, all the four City SPs, and SDPOs. Several important directives regarding security arrangements were issued in the meeting that lasted for about two hours.Rana said, “A three-tier security system has been made for PM Modi’s roadshow. More than 5,000 police personnel will be deployed along the entire roadshow route. Barricading has been done on both sides of the road to enhance the security.”

The IG said CCTV cameras have been installed on the route for surveillance, and police personnel will also be deployed on multi-storey buildings along the roadshow route. Patna police has made fool-proof security arrangements for the roadshow, he said.Special Protection Group (SPG) and paramilitary forces personnel will also keep a watch at every corner on the road. The command of the security plan is in the hands of Patna DM Thiyagarajan SM and the SSP.“Police officers in civvies will also be deployed for crowd control and security surveillance during the roadshow. Magistrates and district force have also been appointed along with police on the route map,” the IG added.Security agencies are continuously checking the route, and preparations are being made to seal every possible exit point. A traffic diversion plan has also been prepared in the capital to ensure minimal inconvenience to the general public during the roadshow.
