Thrissur Rural police hold special checks in colleges ahead of Onam celebrations

To prevent violence and law violations during Onam celebrations on college campuses, the Thrissur Rural police conducted a special inspection drive on Saturday (August 30, 2025) under the leadership of District Police Chief B. Krishnakumar.

During the checks held in and around several college campuses across the district, the police registered 13 cases, arrested 8 persons, and seized 12 vehicles, which were later produced before court.

The police said the intensified inspections were aimed at ensuring student safety and lawful celebrations during the festive season, and warned that strict action would continue against offenders.
