Charlie Axel Woods, son of golf great Tiger Woods, had a wonderful time at the Junior Players Championship, which took place at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on August 31.
He accomplished an amazing feat in the final round of the competition by holing-in-one on the 177-yard third hole. Though ironically this time his father could not see it occur, this was his second hole-in-one in the last year. The instant was both sad and brilliant for Charlie, yet a bit subdued without Tiger at his side.

At just 16 years old, Charlie made a sharp, accurate shot from 177 yards out, sending the ball into the cup straight from the tee box.
The crowd cheered softly and his playing partners stepped up to high-five him gently.
It was his second-ever ‘ace’, his first came in December 2024 at the PNC Championship, where he and his father competed together. At that moment, Tiger Woods celebrated with a joyful hug, making headlines. This time, Tiger Woods was not present at TPC Sawgrass, marking the second big event in quick succession where Charlie’s milestone came without his dad.

Charlie Axel Woods fights back in Junior Players Championship to stay in contention
Earlier Charlie Woods had a difficult beginning at the same event. After shooting 76 (four over par) in the first round, he tied for 38th place behind Miles Russell, the leader. Still, Charlie kept his cool. Earlier in the season, he showed promise as he tied for ninth at the Junior PGA Championship in August and won his first AJGA event, the The Team TaylorMade Invitational, May last year With one last round left to play, he still has a chance to ascend the rankings. Though talent matters, it's his capacity to persevere despite initial setbacks that really counts.
