Tight security arranged for I-Day celebrations, traffic restrictions imposed

Police made elaborate security arrangements at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium, the venue for Independence Day celebrations in Vijayawada. Security has been stepped up at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS), where Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will launch ‘Free Bus for Women’ in the State, on Friday.

Police reviewed security at IGMC Stadium, as well as PNBS, with the officers of APSRTC and other officers and conducted rehearsals. Mr. Naidu will participate in the I-Day celebrations at the stadium, in which many VIPs will take part. Officers will monitor security through drones at IGMC and PNBS. Police imposed traffic restrictions on M. G. Road (Bandar Road) on Friday, in wake of the VIP movements. Krishna district Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao visited the police parade grounds and reviewed bandobust for Independence Day celebrations in Machilipatnam.
