Time has come for states to reclaim rights: MK Stalin

CHENNAI: The time has come for states to wage political and legal battles to reclaim their rights, chief minister M K Stalin said on Friday, accusing the Union govt of "snatching away" powers in key sectors.Delivering his Independence Day address, Stalin said that instead of granting more authority to states working in cooperation with the Centre, powers in departments such as education and health were being taken away. He alleged that bias in policies, laws, and financial sharing was forcing states to depend on the Union govt."The only way to protect our rights, powers, and financial shares is through political and legal battles, and that time has come," he said.
