TN man murders coworker who broke his teeth a few years ago

COIMBATORE: The Singanallur police in the city have arrested a man for murdering a co-worker over a previous enmity.The murdered man has been identified as K Arjun, 37, of Alanganallur in Madurai, and the arrested man has been identified as N Vivek, 30, of Salavaiyalar Colony in Madurai.

Both were involved in centring work.

In 2023, while working at a site in Coimbatore, they got into a verbal duel. In a fit of rage, Arjun assaulted Vivek and broke his teeth. Later, they reconciled and resumed working together as before. However, Vivek had harboured enmity towards Arjun and had been waiting for the right time to take revenge, police said.On Thursday morning, when Arjun was involved in centring work near Masakalipalayam near Singanallur in the city, Vivek reached there in a drunken state. He got into an altercation with Arjun and attacked him with an iron rod. Arjun sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where he died Thursday night.The Singanallur police registered a case. Vivek was remanded in judicial custody.
