Cardi B says she wants more hits before taking the Super Bowl stage
In her Billboard chat, Cardi revealed that she passed on the Halftime Show because she wants to level up even more before taking on one of the biggest stages in the world.“I got asked to do the Super Bowl and I denied it. I feel like soon, if I get to do it, I’m going to have more hits. I’m going to be more experienced and I’m going to eat that up.”
It’s not about saying no forever, Cardi clearly sees the Super Bowl in her future. She just wants her catalog to be stacked enough to make it an undeniable showstopper. This isn’t the first time Cardi has said no to the NFL. Cardi B also declined to perform back in 2019 at Super Bowl LIII. That decision was very different, she turned it down to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, who had been sidelined from the NFL after kneeling during the national anthem.
At the time, she admitted it was tough because her husband Offset is a huge football fan, but she wasn’t willing to compromise her stance.
Fans are debating if she’s lying or just being delusional
The internet wasted no time weighing in after Cardi B claimed she turned down the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And honestly? A big chunk of fans simply don’t believe her.One user laughed it off, posting: “Just lying I’m dead 😭😭” while another added, “thank god she declined, it would have been horrendous.” Others weren’t convinced the NFL would even call Cardi in the first place, with tweets like: “Having to pay for your own performance isn’t appealing unless you need publicity” and “it would go down as the worst halftime show in history.”
