Tottenham Hotspur confirmed on Thursday that Daniel Levy has stepped down as Executive Chairman, bringing an end to a tenure that spanned almost 25 years. Levy, who joined the club’s board in 2000 following ENIC’s takeover, oversaw one of the most transformative periods in the club’s history.

His tenure included the creation of the club’s 62,000-seater stadium, opened in 2019, and regular participation in European competitions, highlighted by the 2019 Champions League final and this year’s Europa League triumph over Manchester United.

Reflecting on his departure, Levy said, “I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level.

More than that, we have built a community.” He added,“I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn’t always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.” Peter Charrington, who joined the board earlier this year, has been appointed to the newly created role of Non-Executive Chairman. He will oversee governance while Vinai Venkatesham, the recently appointed CEO, leads the executive team.

Charrington acknowledged Levy’s contribution, stating, “I am very honoured to become Non-Executive Chairman of this extraordinary Club and, on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Daniel and his family for their commitment and loyalty to the Club over so many years.”
