Tottenham’s losing run continues after Crystal Palace defeat

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a tough 3–1 loss to Crystal Palace on Thursday, pushing them closer to the relegation zone in the Premier League.Tottenham started well and took the lead when Dominic Solanke scored in the 34th minute after a cross from Archie Gray.

But their lead did not last long.

Just minutes later, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven pulled down Ismaila Sarr in the penalty area. Van de Ven was shown a red card, and Sarr scored the penalty to equalize.After that, Crystal Palace quickly took control of the match. Jorgen Strand Larsen scored Palace’s second goal after a pass from Adam Wharton. Soon after, Sarr scored again, giving Palace a strong 3–1 lead before halftime.

The defeat made Tottenham’s situation worse. The team, coached by Igor Tudor, is now 16th in the league, only one point above the relegation zone. Tottenham has lost five league matches in a row and has not won in 11 consecutive league games, their worst run since 1975.Fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were very angry. Many supporters left early, and others booed the team at the final whistle.With just one win in their last 13 home league games, Tottenham are in grave danger of playing in the second tier for the first time since 1977-78.

That remains the only season they have spent outside the top-flight since 1950.Tottenham still has nine matches left to avoid relegation. Their next league game will be away against Liverpool FC.The club is also scheduled to play Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, but right now their biggest worry is staying in the Premier League.
