Tovino Thomas denies 'Toxic' rumours; 'Pallichattambi' actor clarifies NO ANTAGONIST in Yash film

Tovino Thomas prefers completing films in single schedules, a common practice in Malayalam cinema. He finds long shooting periods in other industries challenging.Now, Tovino Thomas has finally addressed ongoing speculation about his involvement in Yash’s upcoming film 'Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-ups'.

Reports had suggested he would play the antagonist.

The actor has now firmly denied being part of the project. He spoke during a conversation with journalist Baradwaj Rangan and later at a press meet.

Denial of involvement in 'Toxic'

Tovino Thomas clarified that he is not playing any role in 'Toxic'. He stated he is not the negative lead opposite Yash. The actor usually avoids commenting on unconfirmed projects.

Reason for skipping Telugu film 'Dragon'

Tovino Thomas also explained why he stepped away from another big Telugu project called 'Dragon'.

He was asked about it during a promotional event in Hyderabad.He said, “It is really hard to allocate dates, so I am not doing it.”Tovino went on to explain his working style, “I don’t do multiple films at the same time. In Malayalam, we usually complete a film in a single schedule. But in Telugu, it takes almost a year to finish one project. That’s why I’m not doing straight Telugu films. I can commit 3 months, not an entire year.”

'Pallichattambi' box office performance

Meanwhile, Tovino Thomas’ recent release 'Pallichattambi' showed a drop on its second day. The Malayalam period action drama collected Rs 1.65 Cr net on Day 2. This marks a 43.1 percent decline from Day 1. The total India net collection now stands at Rs 4.55 Cr.

Day wise collection details

According to Sacnilk reports, Day 1 net collection stood at Rs 2.90 Cr across 1,260 shows with 51.0 percent occupancy. On Day 2 as first Thursday the film added Rs 1.65 Cr net from 1,161 shows. Overall occupancy fell to 33.0 percent. Total India gross collections reached Rs 5.23 Cr till date.Meanwhile, Tovino Thomas was last seen in 'Lokah: Chapter 1'.
