Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a voluntary recall affecting 4,863 units of the Camry, Vellfire, and Land Cruiser. The recall has been initiated to inspect and rectify a possible fault in the Parking Assist Electronic Control Unit (ECU) - a component of the Panoramic View Monitor (360° camera system) that manages the vehicle’s rear-view display.The company has clarified that no related incidents have been reported in India so far, and the recall has been launched purely as a preventive and precautionary measure. The company also mentioned that its authorised dealer representatives will reach out to affected customers directly to arrange the inspection and software update, which will be conducted free of charge at Toyota service centres nationwide.

As per Toyota, the recall process will include a software reprogramming update to restore optimal system performance.
The campaign covers 2,257 units of the Camry manufactured between July 18, 2024, and September 23, 2025, 1,862 units of the Vellfire produced from July 19, 2023, to May 12, 2025, and 744 units of the Land Cruiser manufactured between May 31, 2023, and July 28, 2025.

The Camry is offered in two variants with prices starting from Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota's fifth-generation Hybrid System dubbed THS 5.
The new model puts out 230hp of power and has claimed fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl. The Toyota Vellfire is a luxury MPV that has been steadily gaining popularity in India, particularly among politicians, business leaders, and celebrities for its comfort, premium features, and strong road presence.

Priced from Rs 1.18 crores, it’s powered by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine with 193 hp and a peak torque of 240 Nm.
