Koderma: A woman died and four others, including an eight-year-old child, sustained serious injuries when a car heading to Bihar from Ranchi reportedly lost control and overturned, hitting the victims standing on the Ranchi-Patna roadside in Koderma Ghati on Sunday.The deceased was identified as Sunita Devi (45) of Gopalpur, Dibour. The seriously injured victims – Renuka Devi (32), Lachhwa Devi (32), Kanti Devi (30) and eight-year-old Dulari Kumari, all residents of Gopalpur, Dibour – were sent to Sadar Hospital. They were waiting for a vehicle to go home after collecting wood from a nearby forest.The officer in-charge of Koderma police station, Vikas Paswan, said, “The car’s loss of control was caused by a man inside the vehicle, who was reportedly mentally unstable and was being taken to Bihar by his family after treatment in Ranchi. he jumped out of the car all of a sudden after which the driver lost control of the vehicle. None of the occupants of the car were injured in the accident. Police have detained them and waiting for their family to arrive in Koderma.
The police seized the car which was carriying the occupants, including the mentally challenged individual.”
