Tragic Dispute Leads to Woman's Death After Consuming Poison in Chatra District

Chatra: A 27-year-old woman Neha Devi allegedly died after consuming poison following a dispute with her husband over money at Majhgawa village under Pratappur police station in Chatra district on Tuesday.

According to her husband Rajesh Yadav, an argument broke out between them over money, following which she consumed poison in anger. She was taken to the Pratappur Community Health Centre, from where she was referred to Chatra Sadar Hospital for better treatment. However, she died during treatment. Pratappur police station officer-in-charge Alok Ranjan Chaudhary said, “Appropriate action would be taken based on a written complaint from the family. Body has been sent for postmortem and report is awaited.”
