Barcelona signed 19-year-old winger Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen on a four-year contract until June 2029.

Barcelona have announced the signing of Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen. The winger will sign a contract with the club for four seasons, lasting until June 30, 2029.

“The winger has signed for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2029," Barcelona said in a statement, without specifying the cost of the deal.

Roony will join the Barcelona side for training immediately and is part of Hansi Flick’s plans for pre-season.

Who Is Roony Bardghji?

Born in Kuwait but holding Swedish nationality, Roony Bardghji is just 19 years old. He is a right winger known for his skill, speed, and goalscoring ability—qualities that make him a promising prospect for the future.

According to The Athletic, Bardghji’s contract with Copenhagen was set to expire in December, but the clubs have reached an agreement that allows the winger to join Barcelona immediately.

Bardghji joined the youth system at the Danish side in the summer of 2020 after starting out at Malmo. His talent led to a quick promotion to Copenhagen’s first team in 2022, where he played 84 games, scored 15 goals, and provided one assist.

One of the most sought-after young players in Europe, his progress was temporarily halted due to a serious injury that sidelined him for almost a year. Despite this setback, he has recovered and shown his quality since his return.

As a wide player, Bardghji is known for his one-on-one skills, his ability to dribble past opponents, and his effectiveness in front of goal. His presence on the right wing can provide more dynamism and make a significant difference. During his time at Copenhagen, he won three Danish league titles and two Danish cups, making decisive contributions to the team’s success.

Roony is Barcelona’s second signing of the season, following the activation of the 25 million Euro release clause for goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol.

Barcelona are coming off a remarkable season, having won the domestic treble with triumphs in La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de Espana.
