Transponders fixed in 672 fishing boats from Uppada for rescue operations

Transponders have been installed to 672 fishing boats being operating from the Uppada coast in Kakinada district to trace their position in the sea for any rescue operation in the event of need during fishing, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has said. 

In an official release on the initiatives in his constituency of Pithapuram, Mr. Pawan Kalyan on Friday said; “The Konapapapeta village in U.Kothapalli Mandal has been developed under the Climate Resilient Coastal Fishermen Villages (CRCFV) initiative to tackle climate change and its impact on the livelihood of the fisherfolk, shoreline protection”. Alternative livelihood opportunities will also be explored in the CRCFC village.
