Minister for Transport, Youth Affairs and Sports Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy on Monday called on the people to actively participate in the Yogandhra-2025 initiative and make it a grand success.
The yoga campaign organised at Boyakonda Gangamma temple premises in Chowdepalle on Monday (June 9) saw the participation of District Collector Sumit Kumar, Superintendent of Police Manikantha Chandolu, and the district in-charge Minister. The yoga camp commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the participants performing yoga asanas under the guidance of yoga masters.
Highlighting that yoga has elevated India’s global stature, Mr. Ramprasad Reddy said that the Yogandhra-2025 celebrations will conclude with a record-breaking mass yoga event at Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam on June 21. With an estimated participation of five lakh people, this event will be entering the Guinness World Record, he added.
The Collector said that more than 5,000 yoga master trainers were deployed across the district to ensure seven yoga sessions per village secretariat. He highlighted yoga’s role in combating stress and managing ailments like hypertension, diabetes, and other disorders.
SP Manikantha Chandolu said that practicing yoga daily can boost one’s immunity and overall health, while adding that even 30 minutes of yoga could do miracles.
