BHOPAL: A 29-year-old man, allegedly trapped in online gambling and mounting debt, died by suicide in Gwalior on Wednesday morning. Incident was reported from Hurauli Block under the Siroli police station areaThe deceased, Manish Kirar, son of local straw trader Sobaran Singh Kirar, left a two-page suicide note naming several people who allegedly lured him into gambling, pushed him into debt, and later threatened him.Police said Manish was found hanging inside a straw stack behind his house around 7 a.m. when his mother went to serve him tea. The note mentions financial transactions and accuses five to six people of trapping him in gambling and harassing him for money,” said Siroli police.Manish reportedly got involved in online gambling through acquaintances who promised quick profits. To continue playing, he borrowed money from them and soon accumulated a debt of about Rs 20 lakh.

In his note, he claimed that some of those he lent money to refused to repay, while others who had lent him money were issuing threats.Apologizing to his parents, Manish wrote, “Mom and Dad, I couldn’t be a good son. Please forgive me. I fell into bad company and didn’t want to cause you pain.”Police said Manish, a graduate, had also been duped by fraudsters who took money from him promising a government job. We are verifying the names mentioned and investigating money trails, police said.
