Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas will open the three-day travel literature festival ‘Yaanam 2025’ at Varkala on Friday. The festival, which will be held at Ranga Kala Kendram at the Varkala Cliff, will bring together leading travel writers, vloggers and social media influencers from around the world, setting the stage for engaging conversations, besides sharing insights on sustainable and inclusive tourism to meet the demands of the present-day travellers.
The inaugural function will be followed by an interaction, titled ‘In Search of Stories and Characters’, where Booker Prize winner Shehan Karunatilaka, writer K.R. Meera, and journalist Pallavi Aiyar will share their travel experiences with festival director Sabin Iqbal. The evening will be enlivened by a musical concert led by Ghazal singer Shahabaz Aman. Entry for the concert is free for public.
