Travis Kelce’s 2023 comments on Taylor Swift resurfaces after engagement
The throwback clip came from the “New Heights” podcast that Travis co-hosts with his older brother, Jason Kelce, 37. In the July 2023 episode, Travis shared how he went to one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows and hoped to give her a bracelet.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis said. “So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”Jason was surprised and asked, “You made her a bracelet?”“Yeah,” Travis replied. “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them being there. But I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it. Alright, nah.”Jason then pushed him further, asking if it was his jersey number or phone number. With a smile, Travis answered, “You know which one.”He later admitted, “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me.
So, I took it personal.”On August 26, 2025, after the engagement was announced, the “New Heights” Instagram account reposted this very clip with photos of the newly engaged couple. The caption read, “How it started How it’s going. CONGRATS TO TRAV AND TAYLOR.”Also Read: Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce Confirm Engagement With Sweet Instagram Announcement
Jason Kelce and ESPN recall Travis Kelce’s early Taylor Swift moments
The resurfaced moment wasn’t the only throwback fans shared. ESPN also posted an old clip from Chiefs training camp in 2023, when Travis was walking to the field with teammates. Reporters asked players about their childhood celebrity crushes. When one teammate, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, looked at Travis and asked, “Taylor Swift?” the tight end laughed nervously, put his finger on his lip, and said, “Alright, nah.”Back then, it was just a playful joke. Two months later, in September 2023, Taylor Swift made her first appearance at a Chiefs game. That was the start of one of the most talked-about celebrity romances. Now, two years later, fans are celebrating the full-circle moment as the couple prepares to get married.
