Vice-Chancellor of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU), Mulugu, Y.L. Srinivas, met Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Raj Bhavan on Monday and apprised him of the new courses being introduced and the developmental activities of the new university.

The Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University was established in 2023 and launched courses for the academic year 2024-2025 at the transit campus, Jakkaram village near Mulugu.

Prof. Srinivas said that two courses were launched in April 2024 to commence the university activity — a 4-year BA Honours course in Economics and a four-year BA Honours course in English Literature. He said academic plans for the academic year 2026-27 include introduction of a BE Course with the approval of the AICTE, a five-year integrated course in MA Education, M.Sc Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences and MedTech (in collaboration with IICT Hyderabad, UoH, IIT Hyd). MA in Developmental Studies and MA in Digital Humanities and Liberal Arts, MBA Integrated programmes in Management Studies. The Government of Telangana has allotted 337 acres of land, 50 of which is forest land and 287 acres of which is usable land.
