Itanagar: In a landmark move towards fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun and the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) in Nirjuli have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in academics, research, innovation, and training.
The agreement also includes student and faculty exchange programs.The MoU was formalized by TRIHMS Director Dr. Moji Jini and NERIST Registrar Dr MK Camdir, with NERIST Director Prof. Narendranath S. witnessing the signing at TRIHMS.This strategic partnership aims to harness the complementary strengths of both institutions—medical sciences and engineering & technology—to address pressing local healthcare challenges.Dr. Jini emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, "This is a pivotal beginning for the state's first medical college and technology institute to deliver impactful solutions that directly benefit patients and society."Prof. Narendranath S. urged for tangible outcomes, saying, "This MoU should not remain just on paper. We must unite to accelerate research and innovation that can shape the future of healthcare delivery in Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast."The collaboration is poised to drive advancements in healthcare technology, promising a brighter future for the region's medical landscape.
