Authorities identified 16 accident black spots and 84 accident-prone areas and deployed interceptor vehicles in every district. The measures led to an 8.82 per cent reduction in road accidents and a 13 per cent fall in fatalities compared to the previous year, he said.Reiterating the govt’s stance against drug-related offences, Saha said action under the NDPS Act has been intensified. NDPS cases rose by 11.06 per cent, which he said reflected stricter enforcement and larger seizures.
