US President Donald Trump reportedly told his aides that he would back the killing of Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei if he does not comply with US demand, as per a report by the Wall Street Journal. The demands include discontinuation of Iran’s nuclear development.
The White House has refused to comment on the report, the newspaper added further.
Citing US officials, the report further claimed that the assassination of Mojtaba Khamenei would be led by Israeli forces, similar to the one that killed his father on February 28.
Upon appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei, son of late Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, as Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Trump expressed disarray and called it “a big mistake." He further added that he does not believe the newly appointed leader of the Islamic Republic will be able to “live in peace" as US military operations in the region against the regime continue.
