Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman B.R. Naidu, accompanied by additional executive officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary and other senior officials, on Saturday (August 30) inspected the new pilgrim amenities complex–V (PAC–5) at Tirumala.
During the visit, he reviewed key facilities, including accommodation halls, Kalyana Katta, restrooms and Annaprasadam distribution centres. He instructed officials to ensure that all amenities are maintained properly, prioritising pilgrim convenience.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Mr. B.R. Naidu said the project was approved in 2018 under the then TDP government and expressed confidence that the new facility would ease the perennial accommodation crunch at Tirumala.
Currently, accommodation is available for around 45,000 pilgrims atop the town. The addition of PAC–5 will create a capacity for another 2,500 pilgrims with arrangements to house 1,000 more, subject to the demand.
The complex is scheduled to be inaugurated and dedicated to pilgrims by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during the forthcoming Brahmotsavams.
Highlighting the modern features of the facility, Additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said the complex was designed with special emphasis on safety and accessibility.
A dedicated milk-feeding room for mothers with infants has been set up, while the dining hall can accommodate 1,400 devotees at a time for Annaprasadam. Other amenities include a first-aid centre, Kalyana Katta and multiple distribution points for free meals.
