TTD staffer dies by suicide in Tirupati

Tirupati: In a shocking development, a 26-year-old staffer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself, owing to a disturbed marital life.

The deceased was identified as P Bhanu Prakash, who was working as a junior assistant at TTD’s Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati.According to the Tirupati East police, Bhanu Prakash got married to P Nagaveni about three years ago. As their marriage alliance was opposed by Bhanu’s mother, P Sharada, Bhanu shifted and started living at his in-laws’ house at Korlagunta locality in Tirupati after his marriage.It was only a fortnight ago that Nagaveni gave birth to a baby boy, and the family had ceremoniously performed baby rituals as per the Hindu tradition.

The happiness in the family was shattered when Bhanu was found dead inside his bedroom on the night of June 12th.Tirupati East police reached Bhanu’s house at Korlagunta locality and shifted his body for postmortem. Based on the complaint lodged by Bhanu’s mother, Sharada, police have registered it as a case of suspicious death.In her complaint to the police, Sharada alleged that Nagaveni became insecure when Bhanu tried to visit her recently. “Nagaveni mounted undue pressure on my son to completely sever ties with me, which forced Bhanu to the verge of committing suicide”, Sharada alleged.
