The temples under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will be open to the devotees on Monday (September 8) after performing the ‘Suddhi’ rituals, as most of them remained closed from 2 p.m. on Sunday (September 7) in view of the lunar eclipse.

As the eclipse was predicted to last from Sunday 9.50 p.m. till 1.30 a.m. on Monday, the TTD authorities completed the daily rituals quickly and got the main threshold of the temples closed.

While the Tirumala temple remained closed, the TTD management also followed the same practice at Tiruchanur Sri Padmavati Ammavari temple, Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple, Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram, Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple in Kapila Theertham and Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, all in and around Tirupati.
