TTD urges centre to rename of Tirupati airport after lord Sri Venkateswara

TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board held an emergency meeting in Tirumala on Tuesday and resolved to urge Union govt to rename Tirupati airport as Sri Venkateswara airport. TTD chairman BR Naidu said the temple trust will send a letter to the Union civil aviation ministry seeking the name change. The board also resolved to construct a new Lord Venkateswara temple in an extent of 47 acres in Bengaluru once the Karnataka govt allocates suitable land for the purpose. A proposal to launch 100 electric buses at Tirumala with the support of the Union govt was also cleared at the meeting.
