A Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE), B. Avinash, of the Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway (SCR), proved his honesty by handing over a bag left in the train by a passenger.

Gold jewellery, worth about ₹2 lakh, ₹37,000 cash and an Aadhar Card were found in the bag.

The TTE noticed the bag in the A3 coach of Gowthami Express (from Rayanapadu to Kakinada town). Mr. Avinash alerted the on-duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and called up the passenger.

After confirming its ownership, the TTE handed over the bag to the owner, who thanked Mr. Avinash, the RPF and the Ministry of Railways for the sincerity of the staff.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Narendra A. Patil, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) Vavilapalli Rambabu and other officers on Friday commended the TTE for his sincerity.
