TV artiste arrested in rape case remanded in judicial custody

Television Artiste Madenur Manu who has been arrested by Annapoorneshwari Nagar Police on the charges of raping his colleague was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody on Monday.

The accused has been arrested based on the complaint filed by his female colleague charging Manu of rape, cheating and forced abortion over three years. She also accused him of taking money and promised to marry her and later refused. The police had taken him into five days custody for a detailed probe and a day before the deadline, the police completed the probe and produced him before the court.

He was subjected to medical examination before remanded in the judicial custody for 14 days.
