The FIR alleges Twisha Sharma faced dowry harassment, coercion and abuse after marriage. It also details pregnancy termination pressure and the unanswered calls before her death.

Twisha Sharma's mother-in-law Giribala Singh (left) had demanded Rs 2 lakh dowry.
The FIR in the Twisha Sharma death case has detailed serious allegations of dowry-related harassment, financial coercion and sustained mental and physical abuse, including claims that Rs 2 lakh was given at the time of marriage in December 2025 at the insistence of her mother-in-law and retired judge, Giribala Singh.
According to the FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Twisha’s family agreed to pay the amount despite it placing severe strain on their financial capacity.
The FIR said that soon after the marriage, Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh allegedly began taunting her over dowry, claiming that the wedding expenses were “below their standards.”
It further alleged that she was not provided money for household expenses and was instead pressured to request funds from her parents’ home through online transfers.
ALLEGATIONS OF PREGNANCY PRESSURE, ABORTION
The FIR further alleged that in April, when Twisha was around one month pregnant, she was pressured by her Samarth and Giribala Singh to terminate the pregnancy, with claims being made that the child was “someone else’s.”
The allegation sharply contradicts Giribala Singh’s earlier public claim that Twisha herself did not want the child and had undergone the abortion without informing Samarth.
The retired judge had also accused Twisha’s of being dependent on narcotic substances and her emotional distress played a role in the events leading up to her death.
In the first week of May, she was allegedly subjected to further mental harassment and character assassination, following which she underwent an abortion, as per the FIR.
FINAL DAYS AND PHONE CALL DETAILS
The FIR records that on May 12, the day when she was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan on the terrace, Twisha had spoken multiple times over the phone with her family members.
At 9.41 pm, she reportedly made a WhatsApp call during which she heard her husband’s raised voice, after which the call was abruptly disconnected.
Her phone was subsequently switched off, and repeated calls from her family went unanswered.
At around 10.35 pm, Giribala Singh is said to have answered one call but refused to allow the victim to speak before disconnecting.
CLAIMS OF SUSTAINED HARASSMENT
The FIR further alleged that Twisha had been subjected to continuous physical and mental abuse since her marriage.
It also referenced WhatsApp chats, post-mortem and inquest reports, witness statements, wedding documents and financial records as part of the evidence collected.
Twisha's family has accused Samarth and Giribala Singh of prolonged mental and physical abuse, and alleged that they were trying to influence the investigation into her mysterious death.
