Two Arrested in East Siang with Heroin as Police Intensify Anti-Drug Efforts

Itanagar: Two persons, including a woman, have been arrested with 9.28 grams of heroin in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics initiative, Operation Dawn 2.0, police said on Tuesday.Acting on intelligence, the anti-drug squad arrested Tajen Perme and Peeman Manham Taloh from the 4 Mile area in Pasighat, East Siang SP Pankaj Lamba said.Detailing the operation, SP Lamba said the squad, in coordination with the anti-drug warriors, Pasighat, deployed an undercover buyer to approach the suspects, leading to their arrest.Police identified Peeman Manham Taloh as a drug peddler and Tajen Perme as a habitual drug user. A house search conducted in the presence of independent witnesses led to the recovery of 9.28 grams of heroin, Rs 89,000 in cash, and a keypad mobile phone.
