In a cinema-style operation, two constables from the Santhanuthalapadu Police Station sustained injuries during a chase of an accused involved in a car robbery at Cheemakurthi mandal in Prakasam district on Monday (August 25, 2025). The accused, who reportedly stole a Bolero, managed to flee after crashing the vehicle.
According to the police, a man registered a complaint alleging that someone stole his Bolero, which was parked in front of his house at Cheemakurthi. The Cheemakurthi police then alerted Santhanuthalapadu police who immediately identified the vehicle and launched an operation to nab the accused.
Police constables Narayana Reddy and Shareefuddin tried to stop the vehicle by parking an auto-rickshaw in its way, however, the accused allegedly crashed the Bolero into a canal before fleeing.
During the chase, both the constables sustained injuries. Narayana Reddy suffered a leg fracture and was admitted to KIMS Hospital in Ongole for treatment. A case was registered in Santhanuthalapadu Police Station and the investigation is on.
