In a dramatic turn of events, the Bhagalpur police thwarted a nefarious plot to assassinate a schoolteacher in Sunderpur. Two suspects, Satyam Kumar and Kamal Kumar, were caught red-handed with a loaded handgun and ammunition.
Bhagalpur: Police on Sunday arrested two contract killers from Sunderpur locality under Pirpainty police station area in Kahalgaon subdivision of Bhagalpur district, while they were planning to kill a schoolteacher.The arrested youths were identified as Satyam Kumar, son of Pintu Yadav of Khawaspur village under Ekchari police station area and Kamal Kumar, son of Pankaj Shah of Sunderpur village under Pirpainty police station area. A loaded pistol, a few live cartridges and two cellphones were also seized from their possession.Bhagalpur SSP, Pramod Kumar Yadav, said following a tip-off that a contract of Rs50,000 was given by a person of Basantpur locality under Pirpainty police station area to kill a schoolteacher, a special task force, led by city SP, was formed.Pirpainty SHO Niraj Kumar said that a case has been registered under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the two accused.
