Two detained for 'mixing spit' with juice at Ghaziabad stall; MLA alleges identity concealment, seeks CM’s action

In Ghaziabad's Vijay Nagar, police detained two men following complaints about unsanitary conditions at a Jal Nigam juice shop. Locals alerted authorities to the alleged hygiene violations. Loni MLA Nandkishore Gurjar reported receiving a tip about staff contaminating juice and misrepresenting their identities.

GHAZIABAD: Two men were taken into custody in the Vijay Nagar area on Friday after complaints of hygiene violations at a juice shop in the Jal Nigam locality, police said.According to ACP Kotwali Nagar Ritesh Tripathi, a group of locals alerted the police about alleged unhygienic practices at the establishment. "We have taken two men into custody. Further legal action will follow based on the investigation and facts," the officer said.The next day, Loni MLA Nandkishore Gurjar told the media that he received a call around 11pm alleging that staff at Bharat Juice Corner were contaminating juice by 'mixing spit into it'. He also alleged that the two men initially identified themselves as Aman and Sunil, but were allegedly misrepresenting their identities. "They had 'Kalava' tied on their wrists, which raised suspicion," Gurjar said, claiming that the practice is not customary in Islam, and suggested that they were trying to conceal their identity.The MLA further stated that although the men were detained initially, they were later released. MLA Gurjar said he had requested the area DCP to look into the matter and would raise the issue with the chief minister's office, calling it a violation of existing directives of the state.
