Tragedy struck near Nathpur village in Buxar as a road accident claimed two lives. Dharmendra Ram, a municipal corporation tractor driver, died on the spot after his vehicle overturned while trying to avoid hitting cyclist Daya Shankar Sharma. Sharma, who had recently returned home for Holi, also succumbed to his injuries. Both hailed from different villages within the district.
Buxar: Two persons died in a road accident near Nathpur village under Itadhi police station area in Buxar district on Monday.The deceased have been identified as Dharmendra Ram (25), son of Yogendra Ram and a resident of Kathja village under Rajpur police station area and Daya Shankar Sharma (40), son of Vimal Sharma and a resident of Chilbila village under Itadhi police station area.According to family members, Daya Shankar was riding a bicycle from his village towards Buxar when a tractor hit him near Nathpur. He was engaged as a worker outside Bihar and had returned home a week ago for the Holi. He is survived by two children.Police said Dharmendra was employed as a tractor driver in the municipal corporation. He was driving the tractor when the cyclist, Daya Shankar, suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle. In an attempt to save Daya Shankar, he lost control, following which the tractor hit the bicycle and overturned into a roadside ditch. Dharmendra died on the spot.
