Two from Bengaluru drown in Kollidam near Lalgudi

Two brothers from Karnataka drowned in the Kollidam at Ariyur falling under the Lalgudi police station limits in the district on Sunday evening. The names of the deceased were given as Edward Williams, 50, and Charles Williams, 41, both from Bengaluru.

They were part of a 14-member group that came on a tour to Velankanni and were returning when the accident occurred. Edward and Charles had entered the river to take bath and drowned, said police sources.

While the body of Charles was retrieved on Sunday night, the body of Edward was retrieved on Monday morning. The Lalgudi police are investigating.
