Two killed in hit-and-run incident in Sircilla

In a hit-and-run incident, two persons, including a nine-year-old girl, were killed after an unknown vehicle hit the motorcycle they were travelling on, near a private function hall on the outskirts of Sircilla town on Thursday.

The victims were identified as Azariah, 37, a mason of Chandurthi, originally from Andhra Pradesh, and Sanvitha, 9, of Thimmapur village in Chandurthi mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district.

According to sources, Azariah was carrying the girl on his two-wheeler to Thimmapur as the girl’s mother requested him to drop her home. The duo met with a tragic end midway after being knocked down by a speeding unknown vehicle on the town’s periphery, sources added.

The Sircilla police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run incident.
