Officers of the Customs Air intelligence Unit (AIU) at the Tiruchi International Airport rescued two monitor lizards from the baggage of a passenger who arrived from Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers checked the passenger who arrived by a Batik Air flight and rescued two monitor lizards from his baggage, said a communication posted in the X platform of the Tiruchi Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate.
In another operation, the AIU team seized 9.82 kg of hydroponic weed, a narcotic substance, from a passenger who arrived from Bangkok via Singapore by a Scoot flight. The team checked the baggage of the passenger and recovered the hydroponic weed, another communication said.
