Two more contract amoebic fever in State

Two more persons were diagnosed with amoebic meningoencephalitis in Kerala on Wednesday. One of them is a 30-year-old woman from Ramanattukara in Kozhikode and another is a 10-year-old child from Malappuram district. The woman is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode city while the child at the Institute of Maternal and Child Health wing of the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode. Their condition is reported to be stable. With this, the total number of the infected persons undergoing treatment in Kozhikode has reached 11. The condition of a Wayanad native, who is at the Medical College Hospital, is learnt to be serious.
