Two students from Bengaluru drown in Cauvery

Two students studying in a private college in Bengaluru, drowned in the Cauvery in Srirangapatna taluk on Friday.

They were identified as Shyam, 20, and Venkatesh, 20, who were part of a group of students from Bengaluru who were on a visit to Edamuri Falls.

Sources said Shyam and Venkatesh went into the river for a swim but were caught in the whirlpool and swept away.

Though friends and locals tried to rescue them, their efforts were in vain. The KRS Police have registered a case and investigating.
