Two students go missing in the sea at Puthenthope

Two Plus One students went missing on the Puthenthope beach after getting caught in strong waves on Sunday.

According to the Kadinamkulam police, the students, Nabeel and Abhijith, both aged 17, were swept away after they entered the sea for a swim around 5.30 p.m.

They were part of a group of five youths from Kaniyapuram who visited the beach. Another student, Asif, who struggled to swim to safety was rescued by onlookers. He was soon admitted to a government hospital at Puthenthope, and later referred to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.

The coastal police have launched an intensive search for the boys.
