Two youth killed in bike accident near Nedumbassery in Ernakulam

Two youth were killed as the motorcycle they were riding rammed a post near the Athani traffic signal junction at Nedumbassery in Ernakulam district in Kerala on Wednesday morning (June 24, 2026).

The deceased were identified as Gokul and Ashwin, both in their early 20s and natives of Irinjalakuda, Thrissur. They were employed at a fabrication unit at Karimalloor in Aluva.

They met with the fatal accident while returning after celebrating Gokul’s birthday, sources with the Nedumbassery police said. The accident happened around 7.30 a.m. as Gokul, who was riding the bike, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a post adjacent to a median while trying to overtake a vehicle.

Both of them suffered head injuries and were declared brought dead by doctors at the Aluva Taluk Hospital.
