The visit of Major General Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander, United Arab Emirates Land Forces, to India concluded on Tuesday (October 28, 2025). The two-day visit, from October 27 to 28, witnessed a series of high-level interactions aimed at expanding military cooperation, strategic dialogue, and defence collaboration.

The Indian Army informed that during his visit, Maj. Gen. Al Hallami held discussions with General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, on avenues to further deepen bilateral cooperation between the two Armies. The talks covered multiple aspects of joint training, technology sharing, and strategic coordination, setting the stage for greater synergy in defence engagement. The visiting Commander also received comprehensive briefings on Operation Sindoor, as well as on the Indian Army’s Artificial Intelligence road map, from the Director General Information System and the Army Design Bureau.

Earlier, Maj. Gen. Al Hallami paid tributes to the fallen heroes of the Indian Armed Forces by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial.

As part of his engagements, the UAE Land Forces Commander also visited the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), where he called on Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO. He was briefed on a range of indigenous defence technologies and weapon systems developed under India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Later, he interacted with representatives of the Indian defence industry, receiving presentations on drones and counter-drone systems, explosives, missile systems, artillery platforms, and reactive armour technologies for tanks.

The visit was a success, showing the shared commitment of India and the UAE to strengthen military cooperation, defence innovation, and regional stability. It reflects the strong bond of friendship between the two nations and their common vision for peace, security, and prosperity in the region, the Army said.
