VIJAYAWADA: A 24-year-old newlywed woman died by suicide, allegedly driven to the extreme step due to relentless physical and emotional abuse by her husband near Vuyyur in Krishna district. Her parents, devastated by the incident, filed a complaint, following which Vuyyuru police registered a case and launched an investigation.During the course of the investigation, it was found that Srividya was married to Rambabu from Kalavapamula village about six months ago. The suicide note reportedly reveals that the abuse began just a few weeks into the marriage. In the letter, Srividya described how her husband would frequently beat her, insult her in front of others, and compare her unfavourably to another woman named Sai. Srividya also mentioned that she endured these assaults in silence for months while confiding in her family about the ongoing harassment. The letter further highlights that Srividya suffered severe headaches due to repeated head injuries inflicted by her husband. She expressed anguish over the verbal humiliation, especially when Rambabu allegedly made demeaning remarks in front of another woman, leaving her emotionally scarred.
