Police suspect that the death might have occurred around 4-5 days ago due to drowning
Tirupati: Police retrieved the body of a middle-aged man from the Alwar tank waterbody at Tirumala on Sunday. Tirumala II town police suspect this to be a case of suicide after the body was found floating at the western part of Alwar tank earlier today. While preliminary examination indicates that the deceased male may be around 35-years-old, police suspect that the death might have occurred around 4-5 days ago due to drowning. The deceased was wearing a light blue full-sleeve shirt and dark blue denim jeans. Because the Alwar Tank is a restricted area with no direct public pathways, authorities believed the man intentionally scaled the perimeter gates to gain access to the water body in a bid to commit suicide.Following a complaint lodged by the TTD’s vigilance and security department, Tirumala II town police registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which pertains to a police probe into unnatural deaths or drowning. The recovered body has been shifted to the SVRR Govt General Hospital in Tirupati, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, the police have issued an appeal to the public to help identify the deceased. Anyone with relevant information or knowledge of missing persons matching this description is requested to contact the Tirumala II town SI at 9392101923 or CI at 9440796772.
