In a major development in the Unnao rape case, the Delhi High Court has suspended the sentence of former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The order was passed by a bench headed by Justice Subramonium Prasad and Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar.

The court granted relief with strict conditions. Sengar has been directed to stay in Delhi and is barred from entering a five-kilometre radius of the victim’s residence. The suspension of sentence does not amount to an acquittal, and the case will continue to be heard by the court.
