DGME issues list of 148 candidates debarred from UP NEET PG counselling 2025

UP NEET PG counselling 2025: The Director General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has barred 148 candidates from participating in the UP NEET PG counselling for the 2025-26 academic session.

These candidates either failed to join or resigned from their allotted MD and MS seats during the stray vacancy and special stray vacancy rounds in the previous year.This move follows the NEET PG admission guidelines, which stipulate penalties for aspirants who do not take admission after being allotted seats or who resign after the final counselling round. The DGME has now made public two separate lists containing the names, roll numbers, NEET PG ranks, and allotted institutes of those debarred.Penalties for seat withdrawal and resignationAccording to the admission rules issued last year, candidates who fail to join after being allotted seats during the stray vacancy round will forfeit their security deposit and face disqualification from the subsequent year’s counselling. Likewise, students who resign from their MD or MS seats after the final counselling round without completing the course are barred from applying the following year.

Out of the 148 candidates debarred, 59 did not join despite seat allotment, while 89 resigned after admission. Eligible candidates must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 3,000 to participate.The security deposit amounts vary by course and institution type: Rs 30,000 for MD, MS, Diploma, and DNB seats in government colleges; Rs 2 lakh for seats in both government and private medical colleges; and Rs 1 lakh for seats in government and private dental colleges.The counselling will cover admissions to MD, MS, Diploma, DNB, and MDS courses across both government and private medical institutions throughout Uttar Pradesh. The DGME’s latest list and enforcement reflect efforts to maintain fairness and discipline in the admission process.
