UP shocker: Man bites off wife's nose after catching her with lover; in police custody

NEW DELHI: A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district allegedly bit off his wife’s nose after finding her with another man, police said. The woman, 25, was taken to hospital in a critical condition after the incident in a village under Hariyawan police limits. She was later referred to a hospital in Lucknow for specialised treatment. Police have detained the husband, identified as Ram Khilawan, and launched an investigation. The assault reportedly occurred after the man followed his wife to her lover’s house and confronted her. A heated argument broke out, during which he attacked her in front of the other man. Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar said legal action is underway.
