UP shocker: Man stabbed to death in Shamli over affair; wife among three held

NEW DELHI: A man was allegedly stabbed to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district on Friday by another man who was reportedly in a relationship with his wife, according to PTI. The incident occurred on Thursday evening on Khurgan Road, where the victim, Shahnawaz, was found dead. His wife, Mafreen, initially said the police that he had been attacked by unidentified robbers. However, investigations later revealed otherwise.According to SP Ram Sevak Gautam, the murder was planned and carried out by Mafreen, her partner Tasawer (25)—who is also the cousin of the deceased—and Tasawer’s friend Shoaib (22). All three were arrested on Thursday night. Preliminary inquiry suggests Shahnawaz had objected to his wife’s relationship with Tasawer, which led to the murder. Police said the trio called Shahnawaz to the spot and then stabbed him to death. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
