PARKAL: A long queue was seen outside the fertiliser depot office at Parkal agricultural market since Thursday morning as farmers waited for long hours to secure urea bags, amid rumours of shortage.
Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy blamed BRS cadre for allegedly spreading false news about urea shortage. The MLA said there is a more than sufficient stock available in the district, and farmers need not worry about urea.
As of now, paddy cultivation has not begun in Parkal and surrounding areas. It will take 15-20 days for paddy sowing, and there was no need to panic, Reddy assured farmers. Hanumakonda district agriculture officer Ravinder Singh said 4,000 metric tonnes of urea stock is still available in the district.
